Two exhibitions. Two ways of seeing. One shared invitation: to slow down, engage, and connect. At Columbia City Gallery, In Circulation: Artist Publishing in Seattle and A Maternal Gaze come together in a dynamic pairing that explores how we create, share, and hold meaning—through objects, through images, and through one another. In Circulation celebrates Seattle’s artist publishing community through books, zines, prints, and functional objects that carry ideas across spaces and people. Featuring artist-made chairs from the Seattle Art Book Fair, the gallery becomes a living reading room—inviting you to sit, browse, and participate in the exchange of creative energy.Alongside it, A Maternal Gaze—featuring Miwa Gardner and Ramona Lee—offers a more intimate lens. This exhibition explores care as a way of seeing: attentive, intuitive, and deeply human. Through their work, maternal experience expands beyond definition into something felt, remembered, and continuously unfolding.Together, these exhibitions move between circulation and reflection—between what we share outwardly and what we hold close.Come spend time. Sit with the work. See what stays with you.
